Valley of the Gods

Deep in the Valley of the Gods lies the cave where Airwolf waits. Just a rough sand floored cave, it has only two entrances; a ground level crack in the rock, and a well-like tunnel that only Hawke can fly Airwolf out of.

Location: Monument Valley, Arizona.

Soundstage

In addition to the flying N3176S Bell 222B, Don Bellisario got a mock-up of a Bell 222 helicopter which was used primarily for interior shots, but also when Airwolf was seen in the "lair". It could only spin the rotors slowly, not fly.

This was the only Airwolf which had the aft-cabin interior. The doors and windows could easily be taken out when not wanted for filming.

This model was also used in the 4th Season of Airwolf - they never got the real flying Airwolf.

Location: Stage 14, Universal Studios, CA.

Hawke´s Cabin

The exterior of Hawke´s cabin might not have changed much since it was built by famed hunter and naturalist Owen Beaulois over a hundred years ago, but inside the structure beares a personalized stamp that clearly reflects the tastes and interests of Hawke.

Set among pines overlooking a clear mountain lake, this log and stone walled rustic beauty is completely secluded. The only access is by boat or helicopter landing on the dock, where Hawke keeps his small fishing skiff.

The exterior is simple ... a traditional squared log design, with a full length porch the main feature ... and gives little indication of the surprising interior.

Upon entering, the eye is stunned by Hawke´s magnificant art collection scattered about the walls. Van Goghs, Gaugins, Russels and Pollocs: all assault the sences and hide what is essentially a simple building. A comfortable den holds a goodly ammount of furniture arranged around the massive stone fireplace where Hawke keeps his Stradivarius Cello. Tet generally slumbers on the flagstones. A small alcove holds Hawke´s gun collection. A small but well equiped kitchen is set off to the side. The large stone bar at the back of the den completes the downstairs. The bar is where Hawke can usually be found awaiting visitors, with a bottle of Montrechet ready for friends, and his .45 ready for enemies.

Beside the bar a staircase gives access to the open loft which is Hawke´s bedroom. Another small fireplace completes this small but homey place.

Location: Big Bear Lake, CA. Owned by Airwolf-director.

Airshows

Airwolf attended several US Airshows in 1984-1986 to promote the tv-series and helicopter. It flew at the Watsonville Airshow, the Salt Lake City Airport Airshow, the Long Beach Airport Airshow and at its home base at Van Nuys airport in 1986.

People where allowed to see the helicopter up close, and take photographs. A few lucky people where allowed inside the cockpit.

Airwolf attended these airshows with the chain-guns bolted on, but without the ADF-pod. The pilots did not use the Airwolf-helmets, but the normal Bell-headsets for communication. They wore their Airwolf-jackets used in the series to simulate the flight-suits.

Location: California, USA.

F.I.R.M. Knightsbridge Center

This center at Knightsbridge is only one of many F.I.R.M. centers around the country. This is from where the Deputy Director, Michael Coldsmith- Briggs III "Archangel" runs his operations.

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA. The GTE building.

Santini Air Hangar

Here at Van Nuys Airport, Dominic runs his small but viable business. The hangar holds his red, white and blue Jet Ranger and similarly painted jeep. A small office and ready room complete the building. But the Jet Ranger isn´t the only aircraft around. An old S-58, a disreputable Stearman, and a variety of choppers and light planes can usually be found in various states of repair for use in Dominic´s stunt flying business.

Location: Van Nuys Airport, Jetcopters, Inc. hangar.

Libyan Desert

The Libyan desert is where Airwolf was hidden by Libyan mercenaries when it was purloined by Moffet and his crew. This is also where the insane Dr. Moffet tortured the FIRM-agents, Angela and Gabrielle, to death. Moffet was later killed here by Stringfellow Hawke revenging the death of Gabrielle.

Location: Sand dunes, Brawley, California.
