So, I think its time Airwolf was updated. I have been searching the internet and have found a few good ideas, yet none of them really have the character of the bell 222.
At the end of the day Airwolf is a wolf in sheeps clothing, so all these comanche stealth designs do not work. Airwolf needs to look awesome yet inconspicuous. The 430 is horrible, 4 rotors looks crap to be honest. Airwolf is a Bell 222 and instead of changing her we need to evolve her. For example the nose and window section needs re-shaping, more aerodynamic look.
So come on people lets have your ideas, lets start with the front section, post them in, we will rebuild her section by section.
Also, in 84 the 222 was brand new. As much as I hate to say it, a "modern" airwolf should carry that tradition. In my opinion there are 2 choices. 1: make it asit was, a 222, or 2: go full bore new with a new designed chopper like andrew probert did for the series. If you take the origonal chopper and "evolve" it, it won't be the same. Imagine the general lee "evolved" it just won't work. If you don't have an orange 69 charger with the confederate flag on the roof and 01 on the doors then you don't have the general lee. Same goes for airwolf.
I understand and sort of agree with what your saying. The 430 in my oppinion is a step backwards for Airwolf. The ugly engine covers for a start. The best new design I have seen so far is done by a guy called bagera3005. The shape from the side and top view is good but thje front just isn't airwolf. I'm working on manipulating it now and I will post a pic aat some point. He has also made it stealth like the comanche but if you seen that hover over you today you would think its military, which defeats the object of a wolf in sheeps clothing.
There was a website up briefly (4irwolf.com? .org?) that had a cool backdrop of a redesigned Airwolf in silhouette. Unfortunately the site disappeared before I could grab it - it looked really good (imho).
